My Night at Nick's
Eddie Condon once said of jazz impresario Nick Rongetti, who’d attended law school in his youth, “He didn’t pass the bar— he bought the bar.” And lucky for jazz fans that he did. Nick’s in the Village was one of the favorite haunts on the New York jazz scene in from 1937 through 1961.
The week of June 26, Riverwalk Jazz presents a show called "A Night at Nick’s."
Now it's your turn—tell us your story, and share your memories with us, about your visit to the famous jazz landmark in Greenwich Village.

My Jazz Story
Tell Your Jazz Story. How did you come to know old-style jazz? Did you have a relative or friend who toured with a band in the Swing Era? Are you the descendant of a musician or songwriter? Do you have fond memories of "clubbing" at Eddie Condon's in New York or The Dawn Club in San Francisco? Or, do you currently enjoy playing old-style jazz for enjoyment and recreation?"

Do you play an instrument?
Ask the Band questions on how to get a sound, find a groove, and get hot! Also, how to put together a band or find a jam session.

Books
Got your nose in a good book? The publishing world is noticing Classic Jazz — there are new books on subjects like David Gelly’s biography "Prez" from Oxford University Press, "Tram" by Evans and Kiner from Rutgers, and Stephen Bourne’s biography of Ethel Waters, "Stormy Weather."
Any of these tomes on your reading list? If so, tell us what you think? If not, tell us what you are reading.
